Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

Welcome to the MedEdWorld Special Interest Groups (SIGs). This section of MedEdWorld  provides a facility for individuals with an interest in a specific aspect of education in the health care professions to engage in discussion and share information and ideas with others with a similar interest. Some groups have open access and others are by invitation only. AMEE members can initiate new SIGs by contacting [email protected] with details of the SIG such as title, description, educational area and the type of access to be permitted (open access or invitation only).

To contribute to a group discussion register as a user on MedEdWorld for FREE or join AMEE as a member.

SIG posts are regularly monitored.  Any posts that are considered to be libellous, slanderous or offensive will be removed.  MedEdWorld asks users to report inappropriate comments either by clicking on the ‘report abuse’ button at the bottom of each SIG post or the ‘Contact/Report abuse’ button in the left menu.

Covid-19 - problems and solutions A special interest group designed to be a repository of actions, methods, ideas etc. that faculty have created so that we can share these within the community. This SIG will be led by Trevor Gibbs, AMEE President.

COVID-19 Students' and teachers wellbeing journey: Struggling, embracing, empowering
Presenters: Janusz Janczukowicz, Jo Bishop, Ewa Pawlowicz

Date: 16 April 2020

Time: 1000 hrs UK (GMT+1)

Short Summary: During this webinar, we do not want to forget the perspectives from resident doctors. Being in the frontline of fighting with the COVID-19 pandemic, they face probably the hardest challenge in their careers. Insufficient resources, wrenching triage choices and tiredness join uncertainty and isolation from family and friends. In the webinar, we will share the concerns of residents from different countries along with the strategies they apply to relieve stress and how they deal with the situation.
