Summary: 'Transversal skills' is the term adopted by UNESCO to refer to things like 21st century skills, critical thinking, persitence, and related skills. Description: A large gap remains between the goals of education systems to integrate these competencies, and how they are assessed in reality. In light of this, UNESCO Bangkok’s Network on Education Quality Monitoring in the Asia Pacific (NEQMAP) undertook this regional study aiming to explore the different approaches to assessing these competencies, the challenges encountered, and lessons learned in the process.
