This article reports on the use of peer assessment using a practice OSCE at Sydney Medical School. Two cohorts of final-year medical students participated as examiners of second-year medical students. The study found that student examiners found peer assessment to be a very useful learning activity, but require further training in how to assess overall performance objectively and provide accurate feedback.
This article would be of value to educators involved in OSCE and peer assessment.
