Description: This paper reports on the development of a Student-as-Teacher (SAT) programme for medical trainees and physicians, to enable all students to acquire the basic principles of teaching and learning during their time at medical school. The programme has 28 learning objectives within four competency domains: Adult and practice-based learning; learning environment; instructional design and performance; and learner's assessment and evaluation.
