Summary:

This workshop will benefit faculty and staff responsible for providing career planning services to students.
The two day CiM Workshop will focus upon implementing the Careers in Medicine program for students.
Participants will:
- Learn the philosophy, components, and applications of the Careers in Medicine program;
- Gain practical experience in the career planning and advising process;
- Discuss and exchange ideas on implementing the program in their school.

- Overview of the phases and components of the CiM program;
- The importance of self-assessment to career development ;
- Advising and counseling skills • Use of the CiM Web site;
- Interactive exercises and case studies on successfully implementing the program in your school.
Please note: this workshop requires pre-workshop Preparation:
All participants are requested to come to the training with knowledge of the career advising programs currently in place in their schools, including staffing, program components, workshops, structure, and student perceptions of the services, as applicable. Ideas will be shared in a roundtable format.
