For the first time students who have conducted research in the field of medical education are invited to submit abstracts to the National Student Research Forum (NSRF).
The National Student Research Forum provides an opportunity for young biomedical scientists to receive critical analysis and recognition of their research efforts from established scientists through the NSRF national scientific assembly. Now in its 53rd year the organisers hope to build a medical education research thread into the program.

The theme of the meeting is "Linking Teaching, Technology and Assessment to Learning."
Medical and graduate education has been advanced by educational scholarship, often supported by technological advances. Learner assessments have been much slower to evolve and occasionally are perceived to hamper educational innovation. The CAS Spring Meeting will review advances in educational scholarship, provide training to meeting participants to advance their own educational skillsets, and discuss how assessment methodologies might evolve to support learners and teachers.
This workshop will benefit faculty and staff responsible for providing career planning services to students.
The two day CiM Workshop will focus upon implementing the Careers in Medicine program for students.
- Learn the philosophy, components, and applications of the Careers in Medicine program;
- Gain practical experience in the career planning and advising process;
- Discuss and exchange ideas on implementing the program in their school.
The 2012 Information Technology in Academic Medicine Conference, being sponsored by the AAMC Group on Information Resources (GIR), will focus on how technology is and can assist in organizational change, improving processes and supporting collaborative efforts in medical education, research, and clinical service.
Posters will be displayed during an evening reception at the Driskill Hotel. Poster dimensions are limited to 4 feet in height and six feet in width.

This highly-regarded course will benefit new and experienced teachers, from all specialties by providing an introduction to the principles of effective clinical teaching for adult learners.
Through dynamic small group sessions, insightful plenaries, and experiential activities, participants will learn how to: assess a trainee and provide effective feedback, present a lecture, lead a case-based discussion, teach at the bedside, balance the needs of students and patients, use educational technology, and challenge learners to move from "knowing" to "understanding."
