The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) has released details of revisions to the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). The revisions will be implemented in 2015 and the exams content and format are described in a, "Preview Guide for the MCAT2015", made available on the AAMC website. In this guide the conceptual framework of the new exam is organised around Foundational Concepts, Content Categories, and Scientific Inquiry and Reasoning Skills.
The first international Conference on Medical Education Informatics (MEI2012) will take place from Friday 6 to Saturday 7 April 2012.
MedEdWorld currently offers members across the globe a wide range of services including; news on developments in the field of medical education, course and conference information, a resource database and special interest groups (SIG’s) and forums. These services have provided a gateway through which those interested in medical education can learn, connect, and debate.

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) have announced major changes to how medical residency programs will be accredited in the U.S by adopting a new system, the Next Accreditation System (NAS). These changes are summarised in a special report published in the February 22, 2012 online edition of the New England Journal of Medicine.

A report from the Institute of Medicine suggests public health actions are urgently needed to tackle the vast and growing toll of chronic illness on individuals and society.
An award winning report titled, The Health of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender People, suggests that researchers need to proactively engage with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender populations to understand the health conditions that affect them.
