Faculty members at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q) have partnered with an international team of leading medical and healthcare practitioners, educators, and policy planners to launch the Journal of Local and Global Health Perspectives.
WCMC-Q Dietrich Büsselberg and Ravinder Mamtani, partnered with David Carpenter of the University at Albany, New York, and Albert Lowenfels of the New York Medical College, to form the Journal’s chief editorial panel.

In medical education settings, among others, assessment scenarios can arise where an examiner with prior knowledge of examinee performance in one dimension is required to rate the same examinee(s) over a different dimension. Concerns ought to arise in these settings concerning examiner bias and as a means of enhancing assessment quality, these concerns ought to be addressed by a statistical test for such bias which suits the assessment design.

A generous grant from the Blackstone Ranch Institute has allowed The University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine to develop, deliver, and evaluate a new, online, interactive course on environmental medicine, a topic rarely covered in medical school.
The American Academy on Communication in Healthcare (AACH) have circulated a call for abstracts. Presenters with new and creative ideas for the Research and Teaching Forum, taking place from 12 – 14 October 2012, are invited to submit abstracts by 1 April 2012.
The 2012 AACH Research and Teaching Forum will feature research on communication in healthcare, scholarly presentations on teaching communication in healthcare, workshops on research or teaching methods, and special interest group discussion on topics in healthcare communication and relationship-centered care.
