Peace Corps, the U.S. Presidents’ Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), and the Global Health Service Corps are launching an innovative public-private partnership to place nurses, physicians and other health professionals as adjunct faculty in medical or nursing schools overseas. The Global Health Service Partnership (GHSP) will address health professional shortages by investing in capacity and building support for existing medical and nursing education programs in less developed countries.

The 16th Annual IAMSE Meeting taking place from 23-26 June, 2012 will include the oppertunity to take place in AMEE's Essential Skills in Medical Education (ESME) Course.
The Australian Medical Association Council of Doctors-in-Training, the New Zealand Medical Association Doctors-in-Training Council, the New Zealand Medical Students’ Association and the Australian Medical Students’ Association are committed to upholding the principles of medical professionalism.
As part of this commitment the organisations have published a guide titled, A guide to online professionalism for medical practitioners and medical students, to help doctors and medical students engage in social media while maintaining professional standards.

The journey of a teacher begins when he himself is a student, keeping these facts in mind we are organizing a National Workshop on “Global Trends in Medical Education Technology” “Live local,think global” this new slogan made the universe as global village.
A feature of the March 2012 issue of Medical Teacher is a commentary and a series of articles on assessment of competence. Assessment of students and healthcare professionals is one of the most important challenges facing medical education today and was the subject of an International Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia attended by 1200 participants. These contributions to Medical Teacher highlight challenging ideas for the future of assessment and will be available as free downloads in the hope that they will help to stimulate discussion.

Faculty members at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q) have partnered with an international team of leading medical and healthcare practitioners, educators, and policy planners to launch the Journal of Local and Global Health Perspectives.
WCMC-Q Dietrich Büsselberg and Ravinder Mamtani, partnered with David Carpenter of the University at Albany, New York, and Albert Lowenfels of the New York Medical College, to form the Journal’s chief editorial panel.
