Summary: This paper evaluates the use of audio recording for resuscitation events in a paediatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Description: The value of technical feedback from conventional documentation is limited by the precision of documentation. Limitations of the written resuscitation record have led to suggestions that alternative methods such as video-recording should be used. However, video-recording is expensive and privacy concerns have led to its discontinuation in some jurisdictions.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the use of audio recording for resuscitation events in a paediatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Two researchers were stationed in the ICU audio-recorded resuscitation events and dialogue was then transcribed and analysed for medical content and proficiency, pharmacotherapy and event documentation.
