Summary: Medical students need to be educated about influenza vaccination, because of their interaction with patients. The aims of this paper were to identify factors influencing vaccination, design an experiential educational intervention and evaluate the impact on the knowledge and attitudes.
Description: Influenza is responsible for at least 200,000 hospitalizations and more than 10,000 deaths annually in the United States. The Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization recommend annual influenza vaccination for all health care workers (Pearson et al., 2006; World Health Organization, 2005).

Since there was a demonstrated need to educate first year medical students about this important public health issue, a multidisciplinary educational venture was integrated in the curriculum. The aim of this paper was to identify factors influencing vaccination, to design an experiential educational intervention and to evaluate the impact on the knowledge, skill and attitudes.
