Summary: This paper explores the assessment of competencies in medical graduates from a dedicated eight year programme based on the ACGME Model.
Description: Dedicated 8-year programme education has been practiced in China for more than 10 years. With the first graduation of dedicated 8-year programme students in Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2013, the paper evaluates the student’s competencies. The purpose of the paper was to evaluate the clinical competency of medical students from dedicated 8-year programme in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, School of Medicine. 145 medical students from dedicated 8-year programme, 86 undergraduate or post-graduate medical students and 10 medical teachers participated in the scale questionnaire based on ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) model.
