Starting date: 18/10/2021 07:00:00 Ending date: 19/10/2021 17:00:00 Location: Virtual platform, Virtual platform
Summary: The Medical Council of New Zealand is pleased to confirm that we have moved to a fully Virtual ANZPMEF 2021 in place of the traditional three-day annual Forum.
Description: There will be a mixture of live-streamed sessions, live Q&A, pre-recorded sessions, and panel sessions all delivered through an advanced and easy to use virtual platform. Sessions will be recorded and available to view On-Demand for 90 days after the end of the Forum.

Our 2021 theme ‘Travelling forward together He waka eke noa’ acknowledges that all of us involved in medical education and training are in this waka (boat) together. As well as providing a platform to reflect on the rapid transition to online learning as a result of Covid-19, there will be a number of topical issues under three key themes:

(1) Transitions and Innovations

(2) Health equity and cultural safety

(3) Professionalism and wellbeing

We will hear from several international medical education experts including Dr Jason Frank from Ottawa, Canada and Professor Trudie Roberts from the UK. Dr Frank is a clinician-educator who has published and presented widely in medical education. His research interests include competency-based education, faculty development, program evaluation and curriculum development. Professor Roberts is responsible for scholarship in Medical Education at the University of Leeds. She is the immediate Past President of the Association of Medical Education in Europe (AMEE) and will speak at the Forum on issues to do with professionalism and integrity.

We hope all those with a strong interest in medical education across all career stages will attend the Forum. We expect this will include clinical supervisors, junior doctors, medical students, medical educators and researchers.
