The International Medical Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH) conference took place in January in San Diego, CA.

One of the many inspirational moments during the conference included the induction of Simulation Fellows to the Society of Simulation in Healthcare Academy. This is the fourth year for the Academy of Fellows which was created in 2017. This year there were thirteen fellows inaugurated into the Academy from all parts of the Globe.

The SSH Academy recognizes individuals whose sustained contributions have had an impact on the field of healthcare simulation. Practitioners, researchers, administrators, clinicians, operations specialists and educators who have built a strong foundation in the discipline of simulation have been celebrated over the years.

Fellows are identified as highly recognized by peers in the simulation community and serve as role models, mentors and ambassadors in healthcare simulation. SSH Academy fellows contribute their time and talent to advance the mission and goals of SSH and the Academy, participate on internal and external invitational thinks tanks, and sit on advisory task forces and committees contributing to the discipline of healthcare simulation.

The vision of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare Academy (SSHA) is a world in which simulation is integral to ensuring high quality, safe healthcare. Their mission is to recognize and convene a diverse community of SSH thought leaders who harness their collective wisdom and expertise to advocate for excellence in simulation through: nurturing leaders; cultivating the global simulation community; promoting innovation in education, research, and safety in healthcare.

Congratulation to the 2020 inductees.
