For the AMEE Simulation Committee Debra Nestel provides a report on Simulcast, an online initiative to connect the Simulation community through their multimedia online presence.
Simulcast aims to connect the simulation community – educators, researchers, clinicians and other professionals. Through our podcasts, blog and online presence, we aim to ‘translate’ conversations from academic to practical, and encourage a flow of ideas into the community for reflection and discussion. We discuss issues across the breadth of healthcare simulation – practical scenario design and delivery, simulation debriefing, psychological safety, translational simulation, ethics, pedagogy and some cool tech stuff.
The team – Victoria Brazil, Ben Symon, Jesse Spurr and Jessica Stokes-Parish – draw on their clinical, education and simulation backgrounds in producing the show. We host a monthly journal club discussion, feature podcasts on hot topics and/or with talented guests, and a regular feature article from Advances in Simulation. We offer conference ‘wraps’ from IMSH, SESAM and the Australasian Sim Congress.
You can check out the website here, read more about how we foster a community of practice in healthcare simulation, follow us on Twitter @sim_podcast, or subscribe to Simulcast on iTunes or podbean.
