Marjo Wijnen-Meijer studied educational sciences. She has been working in medical education since 2005 in both the Netherlands and Germany. She has experience in management, educational research, faculty development and the development of curricular concepts.
Marjo Wijnen-Meijer had an MSc degree in educational science and a PhD in medical education. She has been working in medical education since 2005, until 2018 in the Netherlands (Utrecht and Leiden) and since 2018 at the Medical Education Center of the Technical University in Munich. In Munich she is professor of Medical Education and leader of the curriculum development team at the school of medicine. She has experience in management, educational research, faculty development and the development of curricular concepts.
She is now leading health professions education curriculum development and (international) research projects, including supervision of HPE PhD students. She is on the editorial boards of GMS Journal for Medical Education, Medical Science Educator and BMC Medical Education. Her scholarly production now spans about 40 journal articles and book chapters.
She actively contributes to the annual AMEE meetings since 2006 as a presenter, abstract reviewer and session moderator. In the future, she hopes to play a mentor role at AMEE for new and younger members.
